True Exclusives sat down with Oscar-winning actress, Mo’Nique for promo for her comedy tour called ‘Mo’Nique and Friends.’

Mo’Nique is known for being an open person about her life to the media. During her Oscar campaign, she first discussed the idea of her open marriage with husband,  actor and producer, Sidney Hicks.

In 2010 in an Oscar special of  The Barbara Walters Special, Mo’Nique discussed her husband having sex outside their marriage. She said, “That’s not something that would make us say, ‘Pack your things and let’s end the marriage.’ What if it’s 20 times? So what?”

Now, Mo’Nique is back to defend her marriage again with this True Exclusive interview, as well as discussions on her weight loss lifestyle, homosexuality, and raising black men in this world.

In the interview, the twice-married actress discusses giving her husband a “pass” to sleep with other people. Though she does think that couples should “live by” their marital vows, she also thinks “people cheat because of something they’re not getting.” The solution to this problem, according to Mo’Nique, a “pass to cheat.”
Mo’Nique does offer an explanation to this. She thinks that if couples have “open and honest” conversations with their significant other, it is alright to go head and cheat. Especially if the person your partner wants to cheat with will do something that you will not.

“What is is about that person that you find that you wanna sleep with? Because they may give you something that I’m simply not willing to do,” said the actress to True Exclusives.

Mo’Nique has been married to Hicks since 2006 and have two children together.

An interesting take on marriage, I suppose. And you can’t really blame her..she is a Hollywood actress married to another form of celebrity, therefore cheating is usually inevitable or foreseeable.
