I know I have been away for many months, but I PROMISE.. I am back for good, ready to tell you all the latest news in Hollywood.
Here is the first headline I want to discuss.
The actress was married to Ben Affleck for ten years until calling it quits in late June of 2015 (a day after there ten year anniversary), and is now speaking out about in the March issue of Vanity Fair. The two movie stars have three children together, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7 and Sam, 4.
Gracing the cover, Gardener looks beautiful in a white and blue pin-stripped romper, promoting two new films, Miracles from Heaven and Wakefield, coming out sometime this year, with the headline running, “Jennifer Gardner on the Rebound!”
Gardner discusses Affleck very candidly. Speaking on their marriage, the media, and rumours, Gardner keeps it light, but discusses what audiences want to know, who she and Affleck have been keeping in the dark since the announcement.
And though there relationship seemed insanely glamorous while defying the Hollywood couple stereotypes (staying together for more than a few months), Gardner says in the interview, their “marriage was real,” and “not just for the cameras.”
About a month after the divorce announcement, media outlets pounced on the couple, alleging rumours that almost every celebrity couple will endure, the cheating rumours started to swirl. For this couple, the cheater? Ben. And who might he be cheating with according to these rumours? Why the family nanny of course.
28-year-old Christine Ouzounian, the former nanny of Gardner and Affleck, was caught in the rumours, something Affleck’s camp still avidly denies, denies, denies. Since the whole scandal, the nanny rumours have diminished, clear that it was not bothering anyone.
In the Vanity Fair interview, Gardner openly admits that she knew about the nanny, but that Affleck and Gardner had already been split up for many months prior the rumors.
“She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not part of the equation. Bad judgement? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for (a nanny) to disappear from their lives,” says Gardner in the interview.
To me, this statement is very Jennifer Gardner. I feel like she is kinda over it, has been for awhile. She obviously realizes that stuff happens in life, but what matters in the end are her children, not some nanny who decided to do whatever to whoever.
Lastly, Gardner discusses the idea of scandal being part of her and her children’s lives. She discusses how in the past year, she has had to explain the meaning of the word ‘scandal’ to her children, due to their family’s struggle being plastered all over the media.
I like this interview a lot with Jennifer Gardner because though she has never really been the type to consistently talk to the media, when she does, it is so elegantly done in a way that makes you love her more and more as you keep reading on. She has this personality you wish you had, or even just want a friend that is like her. Truly, Jennifer Gardner is so different from a lot of the actresses in Hollywood because she seems to keep herself grounded.
Overall good move on Gardner, perfect timing to promote her films and to set the record straight for her family.
