May the fourth be with you, friends.
Happy Wednesday to you all,
I am at work, currently in my last hour of my shift. Today I will discussing some of today’s headlines in Hollywood.
- It was announced today that Drake will be taking over comedy sketch show ‘Saturday Night Live’ on May 14.
The Torontonian/rapper will be taking the host reigns, previously doing double duty in January 2014.
‘SNL’ made audiences fall of their chairs laughing at the spoof they did for Drizzy’s “Hotline Bling” music video last fall.
The spoof featured Republican nominee Donald Trump and Canadian comic Martin Short (as his alter ego, Ed Grimley), mimicking Drake’s moves in his original music video, now signature dance moves to the world).
Drake is running on a high right now with his latest album release, “Views” last week. The Billboard 200 are predicting the album to go No. 1 during the third week of May (May 21).
I just listened to ‘Views’ fully today and quite honestly fell in love with it. I was never a huge Drake fan, but this album has kinda turned my perspective around, falling in love with each song as it played in my headphones. My new found appreciation for Drake might be temporary if the hype doesn’t last long… We will have to wait and see.
2. Hold onto your panties ladies because Justin Timberlake’s new song is set to be released on Friday, according to Billboard.
The title of the song, ‘Cant Stop This Feeling,’ is trending on Twitter.
I am so excited for this new music because Timberlake always produces such bangers, and summer time is the perfect time to present those bangers to all.
3. Actress Mindy Kaling announced on Twitter today, the show she created, writes, and directs, “The Mindy Project” is coming back for a fifth season!
After being on Fox for 3 seasons, the network cancelled the lovable rom-com about a Mindy Lahiri, a female gyno trying to figure out her love life while balancing work. In the fourth season, she has a baby with co-worker and boyfriend, Danny. The two are struggling to figure out wedding plans, and how to balance working as both doctors and parents together.
She is a raunchy but totally in an amazing every-woman kind of way. Hulu picked it up for its fourth season and will remain attached to the show for its fifth season. I am so excited since this is one of my favourite shows with one of my favourite actresses!
4. Happy birthday to the legendary ‘Funny Face,’ Audrey Hepburn. Passing away in 1993, Hepburn would’ve been 87-years-old today. The actress oozed class and sophistication with the right amount of rebellious-ness in her. Happy birthday to a true queen!
