So about that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard divorce… things are getting ugly.
Los Angles- Amber Heard was granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against soon-to be-ex, Johnny Depp yesterday.
After showing up with a bruised face and a photograph for evidence, Heard was ultimately granted the restraining order, which means Depp must stay 100 yards away from Heard (physically, verbally, electrionically, etc).
Heard was also allowed to be the one to stay in the family home.
But “The Rum Diaries” star wasn’t granted everything.
In the divorce documents, Heard is asking Depp for $50,000 a month in spousal support.
In the legal paper, Heard writes, “Concurrent with this filing I am providing an Income and Expense Declaration. I am requesting $50,000 a month as and for pendente lite spousal support based on our martial lifestyle.”
Heard was denied spousal support by the judge, stating there has been zero discussion or arrangements made with Depp as of now.
Depp’s lawyer (who was present in court on Friday representing Depp while he is away promoting “Alice Through the Looking Glass”), responding with this,
“The Court therefore has no financial information upon which to make the financial orders requested at this time.”
Wasser also argued,
“Moreover, as a successful actress with significant income of her own, there is no question that Amber can support herself until the parties have had a reasonable amount of time to assess their finances with the assistance of counsel and then negotiate a mutually agreeable resolution or seek regularly-noticed court orders.”
The actress was also denied protection for her dog, Pistol.
The judge ruled “insufficient showing of need to protect pet dog,” but since the pet will be in Heard’s possession, Depp must stay away from the dog anyways.
Lastly, Heard was denied her request for Depp to attend a 52 week anger management program.
Heard also provided receipts in the legal documents to prove the couple’s expenses.
The documents (obtained by E! News) states that her average monthly expenses add up to approximately $43,700. This includes healthcare, groceries, shopping, rent ($10,000), etc.
So what pushed Heard over the edge to file a restraining order against the odd ball, loveable, movie star we know as Johnny Depp???
Here is the account Heard told in court,
The night was May 21, 2016. Heard stated she was in their L.A. home with three other friends, two of whom are a couple who live in the building), and Depp came in “inebriated and high.”
Depp’s mother recently passed away, and Heard was trying to comfort him.
“Suddenly, he began obsessing about something that was untrue and his demeanor changed dramatically,” Heard recalled. “He became extremely angry.”
Heard texted on of her neigbours at home point (who was present earlier that evening).
Depp apparently “demanded we call our friend iO Tillet Wright to prove is paranoid and irrational accusations about some delusional idea he was having,” according to court documents.
Heard claimed she was talking to iO through the speaker phone, but Depp “ripped the cell phone from my hand and began screaming profanities and insults at iO.
“I heard iO yell at me to get out of the house. Johnny then grabbed the cell phone, wound up his arm like a baseball pitcher and threw the cell phone at me striking my cheek and eye with great force.”
Heard allegedly then yelled to iO to call 911.
“Johnny continued screaming at me, pulling my hair, striking me and violently grabbing my face,” she claimed.
The neighbour she texted heard the fighting and used a key Heard gave her to get in. The female friend tried to get Depp to calm down, apparently protecting Heard with her body.
“Johnny’s security team, that included, Judge Jerry, entered the condominium at this time, but they stood back without saying or doing anything.” I yelled to Jerry to please help me and told him that if Johnny hit me one more time I was going to call the police. I heard Jerry say, ‘Boss, please.'”
Heard reportedly left with the neighbours for safety.
Heard recalls many accounts of abuse, both verbal and physical, from Depp. She says it has started from the very beginning of the marriage in the documents.
“During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me. I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him.”
Heard also mentions Depp’s alleged drug and drinking problems.
“Johnny has a long-held and widely-acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse. He has a short fuse. He is often paranoid and his temper is exceptionally scary for me as it has proven many times to be physically dangerous and/or life-threatening to me.”
On the side of Johnny Depp, his lawyer, Wasser, wants the whole thing thrown out.
Wasser believes Heard is in this for the financial gain of Depp’s fortune, and also to soften her image in the media.
“Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse,” Wasser stated in the court documents.
“Her current application for a temporary restraining order along with her financial requests appears to be in response to the negative media attention she received earlier this week after filing for divorce.”
Wasser stated Depp will be out of the country working until June 7.
The next court hearing is scheduled for June 17.
If Depp doesn’t comply with the restraining order, he can be arrested and charged, or have to pay a fine of $1000 or both.
This story is crazy guys.
On one hand, I do kind of think Heard is trying to swindle money out of Depp, who is clearly worth way more than she is.
But, I do kind of believe Depp could drink a lot, and could potentially become violent towards her. But, he has never had this issue with women before.
So, it is kind of a difficult situation.
Is this another case of not believing the woman because the man is so famous and likeable, or is this all about the movie-star money??
I advise you to look at both sides of this story, as I will try to remain bias in reporting the facts.
