We have almost arrived at the weekend my friends, so close.
It is Thurs, August 4 2016 and here are your entertainment headlines.
In relationship news, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just can’t keep their hands off each other while vacationing together in Sardinia in southern Italy.
After the 2016 Golden Globes, rumours started swirling the two were a definite item, but they rarely made an appearance together.
The pair have been on the popular island all week, hoping aboard private yachts, late night dinners and a picnic on a private beach.
Perry and Bloom packed on the PDA, kissing, hugging and rubbing sunscreen on each other.
In other celebrity news, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star Daisy Ridley has quit Instagram over an anti-gun post.
The 24-year-old actress got a blast of hate after posting an emotional post about gun violence.
On Sunday, Ridley attended the 2016 Teen Choice Awards.
During the show, singer Neyo and actress Jessica Alba gave an emotional presentation featuring teens whose family had been affected by gun violence and shootings across the nation.
After the show, Ridley took to Instagram to express her thoughts on the emotional speech.
“Thinking about how lucky I am like………” Daisy wrote online, according to E! News. “Serious bit: as I sat in the audience yesterday tears were streaming down my face at the tribute to those that have been lost to gun violence. I didn’t get a great picture of the incredible group that came on stage but they were so brave. It was a true moment of togetherness. We must #stoptheviolence”
The actress immediately was met with harsh criticism from people who felt her use of weapons in the “Star Wars” film made her a hypocrite to express her feelings on gun control.
“Star Wars” co-star John Beyoga got involved by replying to the comments, trying to defend Ridley.
“She’s doing what’s best for her. I won’t be advising my friend to come back. Sorry,” he wrote, adding to another fan, “Can’t do that. She make her own decisions and as a friend I support her right to.”
Now off Instagram, it appears Ridley did make an brief reappearance on Insta last night, with an explanation of her departure.
“Hey y’all!! Just wanted to explain the hiatus… I just want to be on my phone less! Trying to be more present and all that and got a busy few months ahead so wanted less distractions… It’s all good 🙂 I always appreciate the support and love and Instagram community! X,” she wrote.
Her Instagram is currently disable, though Ridley’s Facebook is still active.
This is probably what sucks for celebrities.
You make one comment about any hot topic and instantly the haters rise up.
This is super unfair to Ridley, but Instagram has developed an option to turn off comments.
Currently it is only to certain users (like celebrities), but I think it is smart to use it.
Kylie Jenner is the first celebrity to try out the trial.
