If you didn’t hear about the Instagram comment feud between exes Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, you clearly have been living under a rock the last 24 hours.
Gomez made headlines this weekend after offering her opinion on her ex-boyfriend’s current social media situation.
Bieber threatened his Instagram followers to stop the hate on his rumoured girlfriend, Sofia Richie or he will make his account private.
Bieber has been posting pics of him and Richie non-stop all weekend, hinting the 17-year-old is his new love interest.
“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only,” Gomez wrote on Bieber’s picture (according to The Shade Room at least). Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.”
I understand it is a huge struggle to get over your first love, and both Bieber and Gomez have admitted they were both fell head over heels for each other very young.
But, over the past couple of years, Gomez has been wanting the press to stop asking her about Bieber, stop bringing up their past relationship, and stop associating her fame with him.
So by injecting herself into the comment section of his picture, and specifically addressing the issue of his girlfriend, she is immediately playing into the media’s hands by bringing up all those past memories she tried so hard to suppress.
THE HISTORY OF JUSTIN BIEBER AND SELENA GOMEZ
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber started dating back in Jan. 2011, but didn’t confirm it publicly until February when they arrived together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
From there, the world fell in love with the Hollywood couple, following them around the world together.
In Sept. 2011, Bieber rented out the Staples Centre for a movie date with Gomez, screening her favourite flick “Titanic.”
*Note. Bieber did something similar just recently for Chantel Jeffries. (Jefferies was the girl in the car when Bieber got his DUI).
But after watching the couple of the year go through ups and downs, including a paternity lawsuit against Bieber which was later thrown out, cheating rumours and privacy issues, the couple split in 2012.
Since the split, Gomez has had to face the fact that she dated one of the biggest stars on the planet and everyone wants to know about it.
She would constantly get asked about her relationship, she even does to this very day and they broke up four years ago.
“Honestly, what I would love to be printed is that I am so beyond done with talking about that, and him,” she told Rolling Stones in January.
So why would she put herself in this conversation if you are trying to get away from the Jelena craziness.
But wait guys, there is more.
Justin Bieber retaliated and commented back to Gomez.
“It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love. I’m not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my believers.”
THEN SELENA COMMENTED BACK, accusing Bieber of cheating during their relationship.
“Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love.”
And then guys, the juiciest part of the whole fight erupted, and it came from Justin Bieber.
He clapped back at Gomez, citing he wasn’t the only one who cheated.
“I cheated…Oh and I forgot about you and Zayn?”
DID HE JUST SAY THAT SELENA GOMEZ CHEATED ON HIM WITH FORMER ONE DIRECTION MEMBER ZAYN MALIK ….
What I Think
Now, almost everyone in the media is siding with Selena, but to be honest I am Team Bieber.
She should have never gotten involved, who cares how Bieber handles his social media.
All celebrities are different when it comes to that kind of stuff, so Selena should’ve backed off.
I think this feud will be beneficial to the two as celebrities, gaining followers by the second to find out if they will ever address the fight again.
But for them as people it is a terrible situation.
They gotta get over each other eventually, and being petty isn’t doing anybody any good.
