Happy Wednesday friends.
I hope this hump day is treating you well and I am ready to dive right into the Hollywood headlines for you to read and enjoy!
In actor news, Kristen Stewart sat down with the New York Times to discuss the busy year she has had, and divulges how much hard work it took her to get where she is today.
As we know, Stewart was thrusted into fame in 2008 after landing the role of Bella Swan in the hit book-turned-movie series, “Twilight.”
The film did extremely well worldwide, earning $190 million, and turned Stewart into a household name overnight.
During that time of her life, Stewart and co-star Robert Pattinson, who played Bella’s vampire love interest, Edward, dated very publicly.
Fans became infatuated with Stewart and Pattinson’s relationship because it was like a real life Bella and Edward situation.
But in 2012, Stewart was caught by paps kissing her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director, Rupert Sanders in public (she was still publicly dating Pattinson).
Fast forward four years later and Stewart explains how their relationship was exactly what fans wanted it to be, a made-up fairy tale.
“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me. It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life. It’s that I don’t want to become a part of a story for entertainment value.”
Stewart also discusses her love life now, something she admits she hated talking about before.
“I would never talk about any of my relationships before, but once I started dating girls it seemed like there was an opportunity to represent something really positive,” she says.
“I still want to protect my personal life, but I don’t want to seem like I’m protecting the idea, so that does sort of feel like I owe something to people.”
She has been dating visual-effects producer Alicia Cargile for 3 years.
Even though I was never a huge “Twilight” fan (never read the books and only saw the first film), I was really crushed when Stewart cheated on Pattinson.
In the public eye, they seemed like the perfect couple, but the way the both of them are now, I can see they were just trying to be the couple everyone wanted them to be in the moment.
In Netflix news, comedian Aziz Ansari explains what has been taking so long for the second season of his show, “Master of None,” to come out.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ansari reveals to fans they won’t be seeing the next season on Netflix until April 2017.
Netflix renewed the comedy series, which premiered in 2015, earlier this year after huge ratings.
But Ansari explains there is a specific reason for the wait and trust me it’ll be worth it.
He reveals he needed a longer turnaround for this season in order to gather the personal material he uses for the show.
“This show isn’t the type of show where we’re going to be able to just turn around and turn it in right away,” he said. “We covered so much stuff in season one and wanted to make sure the ideas we had in season two were equally interesting and the episodes were just as ambitious. So we took a long break, and that’s why season two hasn’t come out yet.”
Ansari also explains he and his writing staff are so passionate about the show, but are still only human.
“The show was so personalized, we dumped our heads into this, we just needed to be people and live our actual life,” Ansari said.
This makes complete sense to me.
“Master of None” became one of my favourite shows when I was couped up in my little uni dorm room with no tv.
Ansari and the writers took on some serious issues, such as gender equality, racism in Hollywood, and unexpected results from one night stands.
And in music news, Lady Gaga announces her first single in 3 years!
Gaga announced the song, entitled “Perfect Illusion,” on her Instagram today, her first talk of music since the release of her album, “Artpop!”in 2013.
The pop singer did reveal to reporters at the 2016 Grammy’s she is releasing an album this year, but wouldn’t say “when.”
Gaga has been busy these past years though, still keeping up with performances but adding acting to her resume.
She starred in the fifth season of “American Horror Story: Hotel.”
Gaga won Best Actress in a Miniseries of Television Series at this year’s Golden Globes.
And it was just announced she will star in Bradley Cooper‘s remake of the 1976 musical “A Star is Born,” and will create new music for the film.
