Cara Delevingne has been officially invited to walk in the 2016 Victoria Secret fashion show in Paris.
Delevingne hasn’t walked in the VS show since 2013. The Sun is alleging executives thought the model was too “bloated” in 2014 to walk for them in the London show.
But Edward Razek, CMO of Victoria’s Secret, is speaking out against those rumours.
Delevingne took to Instagram to share the lengthy apology letter from Razek to the model turned actress. The letter clearly abolishes the rumour of her being “bloated” and states the real reason she didn’t walk in the show.

Victoria’s Secret rarely comments on tabloid gossip, but this week’s article in British paper The Sun regarding you and the 2014 Victoria’s Secret fashion show is a complete fabrication.
Contrary to The Sun’s claims, which they never bothered to fact check with me, Victoria’s Secret made an every effort to have you in the London show. I know, because I was the one making the effort. As a matter of fact, you were the first person invited, months ahead of anyone else. The alleged casting, where supposedly disparaging remarks were made, never happened. There was NO casting. You had already been enthusiastically confirmed.
The sole reasons you ultimately couldn’t join us was the movie you were shooting in North Carolina. It quite understandably couldn’t accommodate your absence.
We tried hard to have you there. You would have made the show better, as you do anything and everything you’re involved in.
So allow me to extend the invitation once again. If you’re free on November 30, please join us in Paris. As always, we’d love to have you. No casting necessary!
Much love and deep respect,
Edward Razak, CMO, Victoria’s Secret
Executive Producer, Victoria’s Secret fashion show”
So it’s clear why the 24-year-old didn’t walk… In 2014 she was filming “Paper Towns.”
Delevingne has not yet responded the open invitation to walk in the show, but it would be her first appearance in 3 years.
What do you think of this? She doesn’t have the go through casting like the other models do… fair or not? I mean I am glad the CMO cleared up these rumours, but is it fair to the other models who audition and put in work to get to where they want to go?
